ABOUT

Founded in 2003 by Artistic Director Ruben Valenzuela, Bach Collegium San Diego is one of the premier early music ensembles in the Unite States, recognized for its vibrant, historically informed performances and innovative programming. The ensemble made its European debut at the Paulinum during Bachfest Leipzig 2024 and performed at historic sites throughout Thuringia, Germany. BCSD is exploring touring El Mesías in the Americas and abroad, with plans to return to Bachfest Leipzig in 2027.

MISSION

Bach Collegium San Diego engages audiences with accessible, historically informed performances and educational programs featuring repertoire from the Renaissance, Baroque, and early Classical eras. 

ENSEMBLE-IN-RESIDENCE

Bach Collegium San Diego is proud to be Ensemble-in-Residence at All Souls' Episcopal Church in Point Loma, San Diego, and an inaugural Resident Company at La Jolla Music Society’s The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center in La Jolla. La Jolla Music Society is proud to launch its new program, Resident Companies @ The Conrad, welcoming four of San Diego’s leading classical music organizations into an inaugural three-year residency beginning in the 2025–26 Winter Season, including Bach Collegium San Diego. This collaboration celebrates the strength and vibrancy of San Diego’s arts scene—uniting distinctive voices that will not only enliven our stage, but champion and sustain classical music for generations to come.
